Hong Kong - the Buddha

The giant bronze Po Lin buddha was built in the early '90's by the Po Lin monastery on Lantau Island. We took a train & cable car ride from Kowloon to get there - the cable car is new since Regan visited five years ago - as is the 'ancient' Chinese village that now supports the tourist influx. This particular ancient village includes a Starbucks & a gelato shop :) But whatever the touristy element the Buddha is impressive - and the views are fabulous.
